
I worked closely with the CEO to plan strategy, manage staff and vendors
for Venture Vortex, Inc.'s web site for entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
Played a vital role in the launch of Venture Vortex 2.0, which involved the
retaining of a major web development firm and a $700,000 budget.
Responsibilities included:
- Developing content and design goals for the web site
- Defining technical specifications for the web site such as server performance,
software capabilities and coding standards
- Evaluating vendors to perform tasks such as web hosting, software development
and graphic design
- Reviewing vendor quotes and contract terms; advising management
- Overseeing day-to-day progress of vendor's team of designers, programmers
and project managers
- Evaluating vendor's quality of work and adherence to technical specs and
business goals
- Hiring and overseeing staff of web developers to perform updates and
enhancements to existing web site
- Writing and editing web site content
- Designing and produce e-mail newsletters in conjunction with content vendors
- Working with Business Development department to implement affiliate partner
areas of the web site
- Designing multimedia marketing elements such as animated banners and flash
presentations
