Web

My role in web development has usually been in two areas: producing web sites, meaning managing the overall functionality and visual design, and creating and managing content.

My philosophy of web development is that simple is better, both for the entity creating the site and the people using it.

I believe in coding for web standards rather than any particular browser.

I feel the sites I have worked on have benefited greatly from my participation.

Clear Channel Communications - I worked as a Web Producer for Clear Channel's five New York City area radio station web sites - Z100.com, Q1043.com, Power1051.com, KTU.com and Lite1067fm.com. I managed content and projects for these sites, coordinated promotional email newsletters for the five stations and produced daily web metrics reports.

Fidelity Investments - I worked on Fidelity's intranet as part of their Digital Information Services department. I designed and developed sites and managed content for various departments and Fidelity companies.

Venture Vortex, Inc. - As Web Producer, I played a vital role in the launch of Venture Vortex 2.0, which involved the retaining of a major web development firm and a $700,000 budget.

Fish and Cheese - As the creator and designer of this web site devoted to sketch comedy and humor articles, I designed and coded web pages and edited and encoded video. I wrote most of the creative content on this site in collaboration with Michael Hoban and others.

Male Health Now - I am the designer for this site on Urological Health.

Computer Stew - As Head Writer, I wrote webisodes and provided creative guidance for ZDNets' innovative daily comedy webshow.

Push - I wrote articles and reviews for this gonzo journalistic exercise in geeky excess.

Fluid News - I wrote creative content for ZDNet's Fluid News, an innovative technology news service.
